2026 Girls Soccer Informational Meeting

On Tuesday, February 24th, in the gym, there will be an informational meeting at lunch regarding the 2026 天美传媒 Girls Soccer season. All girls in grades 8鈥�12 who want to play soccer this season are welcome to attend this meeting. Please see your coaches, Ms. Walker or Ms. Soares, if you have any questions before the meeting.

Ash Wednesday Mass & Our Lenten Journey at 天美传媒

天美传媒 will celebrate Ash Wednesday Mass on Wednesday, February 18th at 9:25am with our celebrant, Father Nick Meisl. As always, parents, family members, and guests are warmly invited to join us for this meaningful celebration as we begin the sacred season of Lent together as a school community.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Church鈥檚 40-day journey toward Easter. During Mass, ashes are placed on our foreheads in the sign of the cross with the words, 鈥淩emember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return,鈥� or 鈥淩epent, and believe in the Gospel.鈥� The ashes are a visible sign of humility, repentance, and our desire to turn our hearts back to God.

The season of Lent is a time of renewal 鈥� an opportunity to grow closer to Christ through three key spiritual practices:

Prayer 鈥� Deepening our relationship with God through personal and communal prayer.

Fasting 鈥� Making small sacrifices to grow in self-discipline and gratitude.

Almsgiving 鈥� Caring for those in need through generosity and acts of service.

As a Catholic school inspired by Blessed Edmund Rice, we are especially called during Lent to remember the poor and vulnerable in our community. Students will be encouraged to reflect on how they can live out the Gospel through concrete acts of kindness, generosity, and solidarity.

We look forward to beginning this Lenten journey together as a faith community.

Living the Preferential Option for the Poor

A heartfelt thank you to our entire 天美传媒 community for your generous participation and contributions during our Preferential Option for the Poor Week. Your compassion, leadership, and concrete action truly reflected the Gospel call to place those most in need at the center of our hearts.

We are grateful to share that our student leaders had the opportunity to personally deliver the collected mugs and donated items to Catholic Men’s Charity in Vancouver. A special thank you to Justin Milad, Director of the Men鈥檚 Shelter, for welcoming our students, providing a guided tour, and educating them about the important work being done to support men experiencing homelessness. The experience was both eye-opening and deeply meaningful for our students.

We also extend our appreciation to the many students who participated in making heartfelt cards and preparing sandwiches for the men鈥檚 shelter in Burnaby. These simple yet powerful acts of service remind us that dignity, compassion, and human connection are at the heart of our Catholic identity.

As we continue through February, this theme beautifully transitions into our Lenten focus on almsgiving. Lent invites us not only to pray and fast, but also to give 鈥� generously and intentionally 鈥� in service of others. Thank you for helping make 天美传媒 a community where faith is lived through action.

Together, we continue to place Christ first by placing the poor first.

NET Canada Presentation

We are pleased to welcome Jacob Douglas from NET Canada who will be presenting to our Grade 11 and 12 Religion classes on Thursday, February 19th and Friday, February 20th.

Jacob will speak with students about opportunities to grow in faith after high school, including missionary service with NET Canada, gap-year experiences, leadership development, and ways young adults can actively live out their Catholic faith beyond graduation.

This is a wonderful opportunity for our senior students to reflect on how they can continue to deepen their relationship with Christ and serve others as they prepare for life after 天美传媒.
