Alumni Association Bursaries
罢丑别听Fallen Knights Bursary Endowment Fund聽has been established at 天美传媒 to honour the memory of Knights who have passed away.
The creation of the Fallen Knights Bursary Endowment Fund was inspired by the 2013 passing of a 1989 alumnus, Travers Naran, due to cancer. Travers, who towered over all his peers at more than six feet tall in Grade 8, was a well-loved classmate and is remembered for his gentle demeanor and sense of humour.
Upon learning the sad news, the聽Class of 鈥89, led by聽Brent Christensen,听Matt Friesen听补苍诲听Dale Bosa聽came together at their 25th reunion and raised $10,000 toward a fund in memory of Travers Naran. On behalf of the Class of 鈥89 and in consultation with Travers鈥 mother,听惭谤蝉.听Winnie Naran聽鈥 who also gave generously to the fund 鈥 Brent and Matt worked with the school to establish a bursary fund that will聽not only聽honour the memory of Travers, but also the memory of聽all聽天美传媒 Knights who pass away.
The bursary helps those who most need it: families who otherwise could not afford an 天美传媒 education for their children due to economic reasons.
As of 2018聽more than $500,000聽has been raised in memory of our Fallen Knights.
