Walkathon 2026 /news/walkathon-2026/ Fri, 08 May 2026 18:59:07 +0000 /?p=67010

2026 Walk-A-Thon

For over 60 years, the annual Walk-A-Thon has been one of the most important and longstanding traditions atÌýÌìÃÀ´«Ã½. More than just a fundraiser, the Walk-A-Thon brings together our entire school community in a shared effort to support initiatives that directly enhance student life at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½.

Full participation from students and staff, alongside with parent volunteers, all make the Walk-A-Thon a true reflection of the spirit of our school: active, inclusive, and community-driven.

Funds raised through the Walk-A-Thon have helped support meaningful improvements throughout the school over the years. Past projects have included upgraded and repaired drinking fountains, partial funding for gymnasium projectors, and new speaker systems for the multipurpose room and fitness centre. Each year, students help shape the future of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ through the projects and enhancements they support.

Thank you for supporting our students and helping continue a tradition that has made a lasting impact on generations of Knights.

This Year’s Requested Items

  • New and expanded soft seating for the cafeteria
  • Permanent outdoor ping pong, foosball, and chess tables for the courtyard

These additions will help create more welcoming and engaging spaces for students to connect, recharge, and build community throughout the school day.

Together, we can continue making ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½ an even better place for our students to learn, lead, and serve.

Speech Night 2026 /news/speech-night-2026/ Mon, 27 Apr 2026 23:28:19 +0000 /?p=66011

In 1988, Brother Nunes, along with longtime English teacher, Dr. Clifford Smith, organized the inaugural Chancellor Speech Contest. Their goal was to spotlight the creative brilliance in students and celebrate the power of the spoken word. Students in 1988 challenged the audience with topics like the existence of UFOs, the effects of suicide, culminating with Jim Remming’s first place speech on five exceptional years at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½. Funny, not much has changed…

It’s with this tradition in mind that we treat the Annual Chancellor Speech Contest as a longstanding academic tradition; a cornerstone of our school community for close to four decades. Each year, students from Grades 8 to 12 are selected from their English classes to represent their peers in a formal speaking competition. These students present original or curated speeches before a live audience composed of family members, staff, and fellow students.

More than a competition, Speech Night is an expression of our belief that words matter and that standing before others has the power to inform, inspire, and transform
